Tabi to hibi

Suitable for all ages | 1 h 29 min
One summer, a young man and a young woman meet on the beach in a small town unfamiliar to them both. Their shared sense of being outsiders brings them together, but the romance they both awkwardly try to pursue never quite seems to get off the ground. One winter, a Korean screenwriter living in Japan sets out on a journey to a snow-covered mountain village in an attempt to rediscover her inspiration. There, she ends up staying at an old inn run by a solitary old man.

Words are difficult for them all, and everyone is lonely — but for very different reasons.

Two Seasons, Two Strangers is the fifth feature by Sho Miyake, known for his subtle and moving dramas. In 2025 it won the Golden Leopard, the top prize of the Locarno Film Festival.
